isnt an insurance company suppose to cover your car regradless the person driving it? well my boyfriend was driving my car-just bought-brand new car- and got into an accident. Now my insurance company denied my claim cause they say he wasnt under the insurance. but should my car be cover regradless if the person driving wasnt? I mean I pay monthly payments and then they are just gonna deny me after an accident. could anyone help me? any advice?

i want to go ahead with a car insurance company and i got a yearly quote online with them,as i want to pay direct debit monthly i phoned up to see what the monthly amount was with interest charged. i just want to check that this is accurate. the yearly amount quoted was 353.95 making it 29.50 per month . they charge 8.5% interest on any direct debit or credit card payment adding the 8/5% interest they then caluclated my monthly amount to be 34.81 yet it thought that :- 8.5/100 * 353.95 = 30.09 interest 353.95 + 30.09 = 384.04 total to pay 384.04 / 12 = 32 per month is this right? i know its only 35 per month, obviously im looking for the cheapest deal possible! but i just wondered why it was a different amount? help??? ta x

I just bought Home owners insurance through a company that shall not be named. While going over my coverage I asked should I photograph all my things and she said no. I said what if I don't have my receipt because I got it on trade or something, don't have a bill of sale or something and she directly told me: don't worry, you don't need an inventory of your property. License expired 6 months ago and I have kept up with insurance even though my vehicle just sits in a garage. I'm in NYC and in college so there is no reason for me to drive for the past 2 years. My insurance company renews the policy every 6 months and my insurance rate is still that of Upstate NY where it is at least $1,600 cheaper. NYC is $600 more and I was told that I would have to cover my brother who is under 25 (not allowed to drive my car nor want to) just because we share the same address. My insurance company seems to be using my last registered address so I have been too afraid to renew registration and notify my insurance company of updated address. Recently I got around to changing the title to make it legit; the vehicle was what I won in my divorce settlement. Vehicle is also completely paid for and completely mine. Question is, with the title now under my name, do I need to register it right away? Would my rates automatically go up (they will use new NYC address on title)? Do I need to notify my insurance company of the changes if I am not driving the vehicle for the next 5 months? Will they even know?? I ask these questions because I am a full-time student who do not work so I can't really afford the extra costs in insurance. I hope to get a job in May '10 right after I graduate with my Bachelors and move to NJ where I hope to live and work. At that point, I would care less about how much they want to charge me. I drove out a brand new car from the dealership and stopped at a signal light. I was rear ended hard by a coupe driven by teenagers. His car was towed and impounded. I'm currently 19, I've held my driving license for 9months, since February. I've done the pass plus thing which in my opinion and everyone else's opinion a waste of time as it doesn't really save you that much off car insurance. Car insurance for me and my friends are through the roof, the only way to get lower car insurance is to get ourselves named as a named driver through our parents as they've got many years worth of no claims bonuses. Or to even change the address of where we live, such as a family or friends place, which is away from London and off the public roads. car insurance is a cheaper that way, as well as if you pay it annually instead of in monthly instalments. I work and basically want to get a car that is relatively cheap to insure, around the 1000-1500 mark not 4000 mark. I've tried fiat punto's, corsa's, the lot and they all seem to give me quotes of 4000 when the car is worth like a 1000. Its absolutely ludicrous, I want to be the owner of the vehicle so I can start my no claims bonus, otherwise my insurance will be high for some time, but i don't want to pay 4000 or go as a named driver as i will not work on my no claims bonus. I both want and need a car, buying the cars not a problem, running the cars not a problem, paying for road tax or MOT's is not a problem it's just the insurance which is the main problem!!! i was wondering how much it would cost if i was added to my dads insurance as the 3rd driver, he pays arounds 400 for the insurance but i was wondering how much it would cost if a 17 year old who just passed his license would add to it. im sure it wouldnt be much as i will be the 3rd driver but im not exactly sure.

This is an absolute last resort & all other options have been weighed. This person is on the brink of homelessness and it is against everything she believed in to borrow this money. Unemployment ran out, health is bad and disability will takes months after she applies. In the meantime bills, rent, car insurance etc still must be paid. Utilities have been shut off. It's a living nightmare. Like I said this was the very last resort. If she can borrow this money how long before she receives a check?
